Diarrhea diet - Diarrhea is a common ailment which may be suffered but both the children and adults. It results in loose, watery and unformed stools occurring more than three times a day. In this situation, diarrhea diet is an important factor that should be taken care of because of the loss of liquid from the body. In order to replace the fluid and electrolytes in the body some of the major ingredients should definitely be used.

According to a research, consuming heavy amounts of fluids during bouts of diarrhea will help in the healing up of the disease. This is said so that increasing consumption of water may cover the dehydration - which is the loss of sodium and potassium factor - that may occur due to the loss of water within the body. The process of hydration should be carried at an urgent basis in the toddler diarrhea diet as children have a low tendency to fight against dehydration.

Another important factor is that water alone may not be useful for the covering of water level within the body as it does not contain electrolytes. Births and soups (sodium) and fresh juices, soft fruits and vegetables (potassium) should therefore be included in the diarrhea diet solution.

Diarrhea dots differ from that of the toddlers to the adults. This is because of the working of the digestive system in a baby and in an adult is different. In case of a baby suffering from diarrhea, do not input excess food in his stomach. If you do this, his digestive system will not work accordingly resulting in the passing of more liquid stools.   • All types of processed and unprocessed dairy products should be avoided (yoghurt is an exception because of its helpful bacteria but still consult your pediatrician before feeding him with yoghurt.)
  • Fruits that start with the letter ‘P’ such as peaches, plums, pears, prunes should not be a part of the toddler’s diarrhea diet plan.
  • Apricots and other stone fruits have the consistency to loosen up the stool and so, are therefore considered anti diarrhea diet.
  • High fiber foods may also be reduced.
A chronic diarrhea diet is same to that of a normal diarrheas diet in terms of the ingredients. The only difference between the two is the quantity consumed every day.
